The mum of multi-­millionaire footballer Mario Balotelli has a new job to make ends meet… working as a ­CLEANER at an office block.And while the ­Manchester City and Italy star drives to work in his £120,000 Bentley Continental GT, skint Rose ­Barwuah’s more modest mode of transport is the Number 11 bus.She is scraping a living doing evening shifts as a Mrs Mop at the offices of a car lease company for close to the £6-an-hour minimum wage.
On Thursday Rose flashed her pass to the bus driver as she made her way for her evening’s work at the block of ­offices on the outskirts of Cheadle, Greater Manchester.
Before heading into work, she made a short stop-off at budget supermarket Aldi on her way to Lex Autolease.

UK spent N3.6billion on Ibori’s trial – outgoing CJN


The outgoing Justice of Nigeria (NJC), Justice Dahiru Musdapher yesterday lamented over the slow pace of investigation and prosecution of cases in the country in comparison with other foreign countries.
Musdapher cited the recent trial of former Governor James Ibori in the UK and said his investigation alone cost the British taxpayers £14 million (about N3.6billion).He stated this at his Valedictory Court Session organized to mark his retirement from the bench after 33 years career as a judge.
He said such huge expenses to investigate crime might be part of the reasons for the slow pace of investigation and prosecution of such cases in Nigeria.

Nigerian Women Ranked Most Unfaithful In The World




A survey conducted by condom manufacturer, Durex, in which 29,000 people in 36 countries were interviewed has ranked Nigerian women as the most unfaithful in the world.
According to the survey, Thailand men are the most unfaithful in the world, with 54 percent of them admitting to cheating on their spouses. South Korea came in second with 34 percent, while Malaysia ranked number three with 33 percent.
 The survey revealed that the top two countries with cheating women are Nigeria, with 62 percent, and Thailand, 59 percent.

Dana Crash: Lawyers Partnering with Victims’ Families to Demand Higher Compensation

Families of the victims of the tragic Dana Air Flight 0992 which killed all the 153 persons on board, including six crew members on June 3 in Lagos yesterday insisted that the compensation that should be paid by the airline must be more than $100,000 (about N16 million) which is the minimum allowed by the Montreal Convention and they are now working with lawyers to secure higher compensation from the airline.
This is coming as the preliminary report of the tragic crash showed that the accident was not caused by fuel contamination, contrary to reports that quoted experts which indicated that contaminated fuel might have been responsible for the crash.

The National Secretary of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBA), Saleh Bayeri has been arrested.

This is as former Military Administrator of Delta State, Colonel John Dung (rtd) debunked the allegation credited to Chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), General Jeremiah Useni that Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State was the cause of the persistent violence in the State.

Bayeri was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) when he honoured invitation from the Commander of the Force, Major General Henry Ayoola, who handed him over to the State Security Service (SSS).

Breaking News:Arik Air bound for Abuja has near disaster in bad weather

Arik flight w3232 from Enugu to Abuja scheduled to depart Enugu at about 10:00am was delayed until 11:40am due to reports of approaching bad weather in Abuja.
According to an eyewitness, in a rush to get to Abuja before the start of the rains the pilot ignored all warnings and took the aircraft and passengers through an extremely turbulent flight.
A passenger on the fight said, "People clung on to their seats for dear life with shouts and cries of Jesus".
On landing at Abuja the plane almost skidded off of the runway and passengers had to wait on the aircraft for thirty minutes before disembarking due to heavy rains in Abuja.
"This is the hallmark of the flight delays and the resultant effects of lack of NCAA," the passenger added.

Sylvester Stallone's 1st Son Sage Stallone Found Dead

 
 
 
Sage Stallone, the 36-year-old son of Sylvester Stallone, has been found dead at a house in Los Angeles.

Authorities were investigating Sage Stallone's death, but details were not immediately available.

"Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son," publicist Michelle Bega said in a statement. "His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha."


Los Angeles police said they were dispatched to investigate a death at a home on Mulholland Terrace around 2.15pm on Friday.Coroner's officials also said they were in the initial investigative stages.

Nigerian soldier sentenced to death for murder

A Nigerian soldier, Corporal Moses Olurunfemi has been sentenced to death by hanging by a Makurdi High Court after being found guilty of culpable homicide.
The convict before his conviction was attached to 81 Intelligence Corp of the Nigerian Army in Lagos.
According to the First Information Report, FIR, filed in Court by the Police prosecutor, the convict had on the 19th of September 2009 allegedly strangulated his girl friend Miss Mercy Ajagbonna at her residence for undisclosed reasons.
The late Miss Ajagbonna was until her death a staff of the Federal Medical Center, Makurdi and resided at Kwararafa quarters in Makurdi town.

Police Intercepts Arms Smugglers In Lagos


The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, revealed on Friday that the command has arrested three persons, including a retired naval officer, for allegedly possessing 8,450 live cartridges.

Parading the suspects at the Police Headquarters, Ikeja, Manko said that the ammunition was smuggled through Seme, a border town in Lagos.

He said that the ammunition was intercepted by police officers from the Trade Fair Police Division on stop and search patrol.

Deputy Governor of Borno and Shehu of Borno escape bomb attack

A suicide bomber blew himself up near the Maiduguri Central Mosque in the capital city of Borno State, killing himself and at least five others.

It was gathered that among the dignitaries that were observing Friday prayers at the mosque were Deputy Governor Zannah Mustaphar and the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Kyari. Both men were evacuated alive after the attack. It is not yet clear if any was injured.
