The Controversy took
a fresh Dimension on Monday as the Trial Judge handling the Dimeji
Bankole Case was Mysteriously transferred to another High court in
Taraba State.
The trial of the former Speaker of the House of Representative, Dimeji
Bankole, was stalled on Monday following the sudden transfer of the
Judge, Donatus Okorowa, who was handling the case.
Mr. Okorowa was shockingly transferred to another Federal High Court in Taraba State on Monday.

mUgo Ozuah allegedly shot dead by police 5days after his wedding
Details as to what really happened that Thursday night are sketchy but according to friends of the late
businessman, he was at the expressway with another friend trying to flag down a taxi around 9 at night, when policemen pulled up and shot him twice in the chest at close range. They said he was not resisting arrest, he wasn't arguing with the police, he was not asked to identify himself, he was just standing there with a friend and got killed for no reason.
Sounds crazy to me! The IG of police has said the men that killed the newly married man were not policemen...but they were wearing police uniform, so who were they?
This is truly sad, and quite unfortunate! I can't even imagine what his wife would be going through now. Hopefully, Ugo's family will get justice for this senseless killing!

Huge protests in Kano over anti-Islam movie
Tens of thousands of Nigerians on Saturday protested on the streets of Nigeria’s city of Kano against an anti-Islam film made in the US that has stirred outrage across the Muslim world.
The crowd of demonstrators stretched several kilometres through the city, the largest in Nigeria’s mainly Muslim north, with protesters shouting “death to America, death to Israel and death to the enemies of Islam”.
There had been protests in Zaria, in Kaduna state and an attempt to stage one in the volatile city of Jos was broken with the security agencies firing guns into the air to dismiss the demonstrators.

WORLD football ruling body, FIFA, has come out with a damning verdict on Nigerian football, saying the country is the third worst soccer developing nation in the world, according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Committee member, Adegboye Onigbinde.Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, and the men and women football event of the 2012 Olympics. In 2011, both its men and women teams failed to qualify for the 2011 All Africa Games.

Presidency Suspends Introduction Of 5000 Naira Note
The Special Adviser to the President on Media, Dr. Reuben Abati,
disclosed the development to State House correspondents in Abuja.
Abati told journalists that Jonathan’s latest disposition to the issue
was based on the need for more “enlightenment and consultation”.
He said, “The introduction of the new note is being suspended for now
to enable the CBN do more enlightenment on the issue.Yes, President
Jonathan has directed that the implementation of the new N5,000 note be
suspended for now.
John Mikel Obi deletes twitter account after racist abuse
The match ended 2-2 and Chelsea fans blamed Mikel for giving the ball
away just ten minutes before time and also not preventing the
equalizing goal. After the end of the game, Chelsea fans racially
abused Mikel on his Twitter account @Mikel12Official, prompting the
Super Eagles midfielder to delete the account which he set up just a
few months back.

Nigerian minicab driver in the UK to pay almost £1.2million for fraud
A minicab driver who claimed he was earning just £700 a month but was living a luxury of life in his Nigerian mansion, has been ordered to pay almost £1.2million.
Ovo Mayomi and his wife Juliet Ubiribo were convicted of fraud in 2010 after using an identity and immigration scam to falsely claim £43,000 in benefits.
But fraud investigators found Mayomi and his wife were actually living in a large luxurious house in Lekki near the Nigerian capital Lagos worth more than £1million complete with chandeliers and £89,000 worth of sound equipment. He also had a £25,000 watch. His wife wore a Rolex watch and drove a Mercedes Sport Coupi.
Man assaults girl inside church toilet
A 30-year-old man, Taoreed Oseni, was yesterday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate's Court in Lagos for allegedly assaulting an 18-year old girl, Azeez Titilayo.
Oseni was alleged to have raped Titilayo in a church toilet at Oshodi, a Lagos suburb.
The accused, whose residential address is unknown, is facing a one-count charge of rape.
Prosecuting Police Inspector Rachael Williams told the court that Oseni committed the offence on July 20.
She said the accused assaulted the young girl in a toilet at the Methodist Church, Ogunlende Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi.
The accused, she said, forced his way into the toilet without the girl’s consent.
The offence, Williams said, is punishable under Section 260 of the Criminal Law No. 11 Vol.44 Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011. When the charges were read, Oseni pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate A.B. Olagbegi-Adelabu ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody till September 20.
