Okada Man sells nurse to ritual killers for N10,000

A commercial motorcyclist, identified simply as Ifeanyi, has been arrested for allegedly handing over a nurse, Mrs. Helen Ilonge (picture above), to ritual killers after collecting N10, 000.

Punch Metro learnt that Ilonge had on Tuesday last week took Ifeanyi’s motorcycle on her way to Igoli along the Ogoja-Ikom Highway in Ogoja LGA. Ilonge, the coordinator of Primary Health Care in Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State, was coming from a programme at the Assemblies of God Church, Abakaliki in Ebonyi State, and had alighted from a vehicle at Okpongrinya junction before taking the bike.

It was gathered that Ilonge (51) was beheaded while her other vital reproductive parts such as breast and vagina were removed for ritual purposes.

Madam Sheila Solarin (Nee Tuer), the wife of Dr Tai Solarin, the educator and author who established the famous Mayflower School, Ikenne, Ogun State, has died. British born Sheila Mary, who was a co-founder of the Mayflower School, died today October 21st 2012 at Babcock University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu. She was 88 years old. A church run by a controversial multi-millionaire African preacher has been accused of ‘cynical exploitation’ after its British branch received £16.7 million in donations from followers who were told that God would give them riches in return.

Followers are ferried in double-decker shuttle buses to the church, handed slips inviting them to make debit card payments, and are even told obeying the ministry’s teachings will make them immune from illness.

Today’s Mail on Sunday revelations about the Winners’ Chapel movement have prompted the Charity Commission to review the charitable status  of the church – one of the fastest-growing in the UK.

Paul Adefarasin Completes N3 Billion Cathedral

Pastor Paul Adefarasin's led House on the Rock church building, Rock Cathedral, which has gulped about N3 billion to erect, has been finally completed. The church which sits on 32, 000 square meters, will sit at least 10, 000 thousand worshipers in the church auditorium and another 10,000 within the church premises and may be declared open for use in December 2012.

The Rock Cathedral, also known as Millennium Temple, took almost 8 years to complete and is situated along the Lekki Epe Express way, close to Liberty Hall.

You Can Keep Stolen Child:UK Court Tells Nigerian Couple

A couple, who could not have children, have been told by the High Court in United Kingdom they can keep a baby born in Nigeria, despite tests showing they were not the child’s biological parents.

The mother said she was tricked by a doctor into believing she had given birth while sedated, after she went to Nigeria for fertility treatment.

But the judge ruled they were victims of an “appalling scam.”
