John Mahama Declared Winner,Ghana Presidential Election
President John Mahama (5,574,761 votes = 50.70%) has been declared winner of the 2012
presidential race over Nana Akuffo-Addo (5,248,898 votes = 47.74%), by the Ghanaian electoral commission.

8yr Old Amarachi Wins Nigeria Got Talent Show
Small but Mighty!!!! Amarachi Nyanne was nothing short of stunning. She wowed the crowd everytime she was on stage and when she was announced the winner of the maiden edition of the Nigeria Got Talent show it came as no surprise.
The eight-year beat nine other contestants to win the grand prize of N10 million.
Amarachi, a dancer and singer from Benin City, Edo State, emerged winner after winning the highest number of votes from viewers. The grand finale was held at Bamako Studios, Ikeja, Lagos. Amarachi became the fans favourite after churning out superb performances all through the contest.

Billions of naira of taxpayers’ money have been expended on the foreign trips of President Goodluck Jonathan despite his January promise to cut down on such trips.
This newspaper’s findings show that the President and his entourage have spent not less than N3.354bn on foreign trips since 2010.

first 11 months of 2012, the President had travelled out of the country
at least 20 times, including his trip to Sierra Leone in October and the
D8 Summit he attended in Pakistan in November.

The board of directors of the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC) met yesterday over the scandal that rocked the establishment where it was revealed that a whopping N2.1 billion of newly printed N1,000 notes have mysteriously gone missing.
The board meeting, chaired by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, decided to expand the investigation and audit the production of other currency denominations to ascertain the quantity of money that has actually gone missing over the years.

Man Kills Pregnant Lover

The family of a lady, Gloria Akpan, has accused their daughter’s lover, Ita Eyo, of killing her in his residence in Ayobo area of Ogun State.
Gloria and Eyo both from Akwa Ibom State had been cohabiting since March 2012 before the sad incident occurred on November 3. The lady was six-month pregnant before she died.
A family source, who craved anonymity, said when he spoke to Gloria on Friday, a day before her death, she told him that all was well, adding that it was shocking to learn that she had died the next day.
