EFFC Claims to have Arrested 5 yahoo boys in Enugu


EFCC released a statement in their website claiming to have arrested five suspected internet fraudsters in Enugu. The statement, released by the Acting Head, Media and Publicity, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspects were picked up from their hide out at No. 26 and 42, Chimaobi Uba Street, GRA, Enugu following an intelligence report.

Part of the statement reads:
"The suspects, Uche Nwakor, 27; Ejikeme Oluchukwu, 30; Ifeanyi Ejikeme, 28; Nnamani Ikechukwu,30 and Ibe Kodili are alleged to be serial scammers who have defrauded several victims.
 “Some of the items recovered from the suspects include Eight Thousand, Two Hundred and Twenty Seven United States Dollars ( $8,227); Seventy Three Thousand Naira (N73,000.00); eight (8) exotic cars; nine (9) laptops; twenty one (21) mobile phones; two (2) internet routers; one (1) currency counter and one (1) Sony camera.

“Other incriminating items found with the suspects include four (4) drivers’ license bearing different names with same photograph, five (5) flash drives, two (2) external hard drives, various bank cheques, ATM and Master cards, 1 HP printer, a black traveling bag with 12 different identity cards, a company metal seal, two (2) international passports belonging to the same person, among other items."

Three political groups fight over the acronym APC

Confusion over the use of the acronym, APC, worsened on Thursday as a third group, the All Patriotic Citizens, which is seeking registration as a political party, laid claim to it.
 
Two groups – the All Progresssives Congress and the African Peoples Congress – had earlier engaged in a war of words over the ownership of the acronym.

The All Patriotic Citizens and the African Peoples Congress said they had submitted their registration applications to the Independent National Electoral Commission for registration as political parties.
 
But the merger committee of the sponsors of the All Progresssives Congress – the Action Congress of Nigeria, the Congress for Progressive Change, the All Nigeria Peoples Party and the All Progressive Grand Alliance – said there was no going back on the decision by the group to use the acronym.

2face & Annie Idibia receives their SUV Gift from Akwa Ibom Gov

2face and Annie Idibia got a brand new Toyota Prado SUV from the Akwa Ibom state governor, Godswill Akpabio, as wedding gift. The state government released a photo showing Annie and 2face being presented with the SUV by the state's commissioner for Information, Aniekan Umanah. 

Not only did governor Akpabio give them an SUV, he also promised to fund the traveling expenses of 20 of Annie's family members to their Dubai wedding in an estimated cost of 3million naire.

In a recent interview with Channels TV, The Lagos State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), Obafaiye Shem embarrassed himself on live TV as he struggled to give a reply to the question; what's the website of the NSCDC?



Shem said he would have to ask "his oga at the top" but after persuasion from the presenters he gave a shabby website address that shocked the country. "It's www.nscdc, that's it," he said.

Vanguard gathered from sources in Lagos last night that the pathologists, who carried out the autopsy, discovered some bullet wounds, bruises and other signs that the suspects did not die of natural causes.

76 year old Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio from Buenos Aries in Argentina has been named the 266th Pope. He's the first Latin-American Pope in the history of the Catholic Church and has spent all his life in argentina.
The new Pope was the archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina before he was elected to lead the Catholic church. He was ordained for the Jesuits on Dec. 13, 1969. He has chosen the Papal name - Pope Francis 1 after st fransis of assisi

How a Military man nearly killed Weird MC

Nigerian female rapper Adesola Adesimbo Idowu popularly called Weird MC is thanking God to be alive today after she recently escaped death from an angry military officer who threatened to kill her.

According to her, she spotted the military officer driving and talking on the phone with his family on Lagos Ibadan Expressway and cautioned him to watch out because of his safety and that of his family.

And to her surprise, the military officer stopped, brought out a knife and threatened to kill her.

Weird MC said she had no option but to escape for her life.

Obafemi Martins moves to Seattle Sounders,pays buyout clause himself

MADRID (AFP) – Nigerian forward Obafemi Martins has paid the buyout clause in his contract with Levante himself, the Spanish club confirmed on Tuesday.
It is thought that the former Inter Milan and Newcastle United striker made the payment, said to be about three million euros ($3.9 million, £2.6 million) so he can join Major League Soccer side Seattle Sounders.

"Obafemi Martins has deposited this afternoon at the headquarters of the Spanish professional league (LFP) the fee which corresponds to the buyout clause in his contract with Levante," said a statement on the club's website."The LFP have then proceeded to transfer the fee and it has been deposited with Levante."

Presidency sacks Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority DG,Dr Harold Demuren

The Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Dr. Harold Demuren, has been sacked. A statement was released today Monday March 11th saying the decision was approved by President Goodluck Jonathan after "a careful consideration" of Demuren's "unsatisfactory response to the numerous concerns of stakeholders in the aviation sector."

His successor will be announced in the coming days.

Photo-NDLEA Arrests Grandma with Cocaine hidden In Hair

Giwa Ayoka Sikirat, a 53-year old grandmother, has been arrested with cocaine hidden in her hair, Nigeria's anti-drug agency said on Monday.
Sikirat was apprehended at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, NAIA, Abuja, the Nigerian Capital, while on her way to Pakistan, the agency said.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, said the suspect was arrested at the weekend following the discovery and seizure of a kilogramme of white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine$
"The suspect, Giwa Ayoka Sikirat concealed the drug in her beautiful hair style while trying to board an Ethiopian airline Flight ET 910 to Pakistan enroute Addis Ababa and Dubai," NDLEA said in a statement.
