Does a religion need to be legalized? The minister also said that the closing of mosques was done in a move to stop so-called 'illegal religious sects.' Under new laws in Angola, many religious sects have suddenly become criminal.
November 24, Angola President José Eduardo dos Santos said that the country is working toward putting an end to Islamic influence in Angola once and for all while the Governor of Luanda, Bento Bento, said that "radical" Muslims are not welcome in the country and that the Angolan government will not be legalizing mosques or other places of worship for Muslims.
Rep Member’s Death-female banker lover arrested
A member of the House of Representatives died in the early hours of Saturday after what security sources said was a sexual affair with a female banker in his private residence located at Gwarinpa Estate in Abuja.
Rep. Raphael Oloye Nomiye, 50, was until his death representing Ondo, Ilaje, Ese Odo in Ondo State under the platform of the Labour Party.
The lawmaker was said to have died shortly after an affair with the banker (names withheld). The spokesperson of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command, Hyelhira Altine Daniel, confirmed the incident, saying the command was still investigating the cause of the legislator's death.
When Sunday Trust visited the deceased's residence at Second Avenue in Gwarinpa Estate, neighbours and witnesses said the banker, who managed his accounts, was said to have rushed down for the one-storey building to inform the policemen on guard at the house that "oga just fell down and is vomiting blood."
They said when the policemen entered into his room upstairs, they found him laying on the floor with a towel tied round his waist, while he bled from the mouth. He was then quickly taken to a private clinic on 3rd Avenue within the estate in his official Toyota Camry 2012 car with Registration Number 148B Rep.
It was further learnt that doctors at clinic declined to attend to him, saying it was a "serious" matter, following which he was then rushed to the National Hospital, Abuja, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police sources disclosed that the banker, who is now in police custody at the Gwarinpa Police Division, had earlier denied having sexual affair with the lawmaker before his death. But she was said to have changed her statement after doctors at the National Hospital conducted an examination on corpse, which confirmed that the deceased had slept with a woman shortly before his demise.
The sources said after the test, the banker admitted to interrogators that she had actually slept with the deceased and had helped him to clean up, following which he went into the bathroom, where he suddenly fell and began to vomit blood. Police investigators who inspected the lawmaker's house had succeeded in recovering some items, including a bottle of water, which the deceased lawmaker had drank from some tissue papers and the clothes the deceased had worn earlier in the day, Sunday Trust gathered.
When our reporters visited the banker's private residence located at Kado Estate in Abuja, two of her professional friends, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the banker and Raphael had been friends. They, however, denied knowledge of the lawmaker's death.
An investigation by Sunday Trust also revealed that although the late lawmaker was married, his wife and children were not living with him in Abuja.
As at press time, there was no official statement from his family or the House, but a lawmaker in the Lower Chamber confirmed the lawmaker's demise. He added, however, that the House would make an official statement until it received formal notification from Nomiye's family.
"I heard of his death, but we're yet to get any official statement from his family or any doctor. The House will make an official statement when it eventually receives confirmation from his family," said the source.
When contacted, the Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Media and Publicity, Victor Ogene, said he was yet to get an official confirmation of the death and, as such, wouldn't comment on it.

Iheanacho Transfer: Amuneke Slaps, Beats Up American Football Agent
As agent, Galliano would be responsible for arranging club transfer deals for Ihenacho, a member of the world-conquering Golden Eaglets. Iheanacho was selected by FIFA as the best player of the just-concluded FIFA U17 World Cup in the UAE.
He has since been linked to top European clubs including FC Porto and Manchester City. Iheanacho has signed an agent deal officially with Galliano with a copy of the agreement sent to the secretariat of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
The agent also confirmed that a copy of the agreement with Iheanacho was submitted to the NFF on October 21. In a chat with PREMIUM TIMES, Galliano and his Nigerian partner, Solomon Oluwaseun, accused Amuneke of assault; and threatened to press charges against him.
They said the coach invited them for a meeting before he got angry, saying that his (Amuneke's chosen) agent must be the one to handle Iheanacho's transfer. "The coach invited us, we went to see him and he started threatening Kelechi that he should follow him to Abuja to sign with his agent who is working with a Nasiru Jubril, a staff of the NFF; or else Nasiru, the man in charge of the ITC (International Transfer Certificate), will not release kelechi's ITC to him and they will both make sure that he is banned from Nigeria football; also he will not get a good club.
"When the agent tried to talk back, the coach slapped him and beat him up in the presence of over 25 people," Solomon said. In his comment, Galliano said he only came to Nigeria to take Iheanacho abroad for club engagement; and he didn't know why the coach threatened him.
"I came here to take Kelechi to his club. FC Porto and Manchester City are interested in him but Manchester City has a better package. This was our discussion and conclusion when Mr. Amuneke sent for me, and asked me to go back to my cousin.
"He called me names, beat me up and embarrassed me, he said it's impossible to just take his players," Galliano said while accusing Amuneke of racial statements.
Galliano, an American, said Keshi ordered Ihenacho to follow him to Abuja and also threatened him; which made the boy to burst into tears and went away.
"Kelechi is nowhere to be found, he started crying after the threat made against him, the small boy is afraid and I hope he will not lose hope. "Amuneke said he will delay his ITC and deal with him, he called vulgar words, cursing the boys and the players," he said.
When Reporters tried to speak to Iheanacho, but his phone was switched off. His father, when contacted, declined comment.
Amuneke, a Nations Cup winner in 1994 with the Super Eagles, and current assistant coach of the Golden Eaglets, confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES that he assaulted the American.
When contacted on phone, an angry Amuneke confirmed that he slapped Galliano. He threatened to beat him up again whenever he sees him. He, however, denied being involved in the player's possible transfer.
"Yes, of course I slapped him very well and I will do it again whenever I see him," Amuneke said. "He is an idiot, useless white man, he wants to come and reap where he didn't sow. "Kelechi is a nobody; yes, I said we helped him into the team, made him, moulded him into what he is today, he shouldn't allow anybody to fool him," the former winger said.
When asked the reason for his action and his rumoured roles in Kelechi and other players transfer business, Amuneke said, "I care so much for my players, I am a coach." "I'm not an agent but I just look out for the boys.
He wants to come and sign a player just like that, he's an idiot, I will not allow him. "Because the boy's parents are poor and illiterate, he wants to use them.
We are Nigerians and we're not foolish," he added. Despite Amuneke's denial, the shady involvement of Nigerian coaches and football officials in the transfer of players to foreign clubs is something muted and known by close observers of Nigerian football.
A football website, Goal.com, recently revealed that Super Eagles midfielder, Sunday Mba's move to a French club, was scuttled because of the financial demands and involvement of Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, and some officials of the NFF. Mba had been unveiled by the French club, Bastia, before he was forced to return to Nigeria.
The NFF also recently suspended a former Secretary General of the Federation, Taiwo Ogunjobi, over the latter's alleged involvement in the transfer of a Flying Eagles forward, Olanrewaju Kayode.

:Bloody campaign in Anambra, over 30 Ngige supporters die in church Stampede
Governor Peter Obi and his candidate, Willie Obiano had arrived to the prayer house [Adoration Ministry] at the early morning hours of about 12:15am to address the audience that had come for night vigil.
The arrival caught the audience unaware and surprising. And as Peter Obi mounted the stage to address the audience – the audience broke out in a quiet murmur – unsure of what to make of it, the Governor continued to deliver his campaign speech with Willie Obiano standing beside him. Governor Peter Obi promised to make available N5million to the prayer house to help tackle a gully erosion site near the Adoration grounds.
As he spoke, the quiet murmuring grew louder – followed by chants of 'Onwa, Onwa'. And in reaction to the chants of Onwa, Willie Obiano/Peter Obi's men including security operatives began rushing towards the area where the chants of Onwa was coming from. The chanters were moving away from the approaching armed men. In the process, it turned into a stampede.
At the end of the stampede, over 28 corpses were seen littered on the grounds. An estimate of over 200 were injured. A large percent of the dead and injured are believed to be Ngige supporters, this is according to one of the survivors of the stampede – who also added that "they rejected Obiano and willie and were chanting Ngige Ngige it took hours to calm the crowd by Father Ebube Muonso so that Peter Obi could speak. Peter Obi made donation of N2million to the Reverend Father. The Father rejected it and ask him to give that to the poor whom he have starved for years. And later there was a stampede. Obiano and Peter Obi has sucked the blood of innocent worshippers. Peter Obi is the Chimaroke of Anambra"
28 corpses have been deposited at Crown Hospital Nkpor. The wounded taken to Borromeo Hospital.
B’Haram attacks wedding convoy, kills groom, 29 others
The fate of the bride and her family members was unknown as of Sunday when Adamawa State Government Spokesman, Ahmad Sajoh, confirmed the incident to the Associated Press.
Although Sajoh said the wedding fatiha, the official Muslim ceremony, took place in Firgi village in Borno State, the Agence France Presse reported that it held in Michika, Adamawa State.
The two news agencies however put the casualty figure at 30 but an Army spokesman, Captain Muhammed, said it was five.
"The report received from our troops indicated that some terrorists attacked a bus at Bulakuri village and killed five persons ," Dole said in a statement on Sunday evening, adding that the bodies were taken to a mortuary in Bama.
According to some of the survivors, they were attacked along the Bama-Banki Road.
That road runs alongside a forest that is a known hideout of Boko Haram terrorists.
A driver, Kyari Buba, who told the AFP that he was in the middle of the convoy of about five vehicles when the gunmen struck, added that he saw more than 30 dead bodies on the side of the road.
He said," I was in the middle of the convoy when the gunmen attacked and I was able to stop my vehicle on time to open the door and run into the bush along with the people I was with.
"When we returned long after the gunmen were gone, we met a gory scene with more than 30 people shot dead or slaughtered.
"All the victims were brutally murdered by the attackers."
Another survivor and friend of the groom, Japhet Haruna, recounted his escape from the assailants.
He said, "I wonder how I and few other people survived the onslaught because it was well-coordinated. I was in the fifth vehicle in the convoy and when I realised that the attackers were out to kill, I ran into the bush.
"I believe it is God that saved me and (a) few others from their bullets. They targeted everybody in the convoy - Muslims, Christians and children."
Haruna said there were about 50 people in the convoy and that he suspected Boko Haram to have carried out the attack.
The AP also quoted a minibus taxi driver as saying, "We saw a lot of dead bodies killed by gunshots and some by the roadside that appeared to have been slaughtered" with their throats slit.
The driver, who asked to be identified only as Shaibu, told journalists in Maiduguri on Sunday, that his terrified passengers wanted him to turn back.

PHOTO:Boy, 14, rapes nine-year-old girl to death
According to police authorities, the deceased was raped over five times, by a 14-year-old student, Onyi Adimabua, in the Ikorodu area of the state.
The father of the deceased, Simeon Jigo, told PUNCH Metro that Onyi is the son of the proprietor of the school his daughter attended.
He said his daughter opened up about the rape when she started having medical problems.
The 77-year-old man said his daughter died on October 3, 2013.
He said, "Up until my daughter's death, she was a pupil of Fulfilled Greenland School, Ikorodu, and she was in primary three. One day, she came home and started complaining of pains around her vagina, stomach area. We rushed her to Ikorodu General Hospital.
"A doctor checked her and after conducting some tests on her, told us that my daughter had sustained medical complications due to forced sexual intercourse. I was alarmed by this; so, I had a private discussion with my daughter.
"She told me that it was her school proprietor's son, Onyi, that had been raping her. The boy had threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone about it."
The indigene of Ondo State told PUNCH Metro that after initial treatments, he took his daughter to Arogbo in Ondo State to be taken care of but her condition continued to deteriorate.
A few days after the troubled father travelled to Ondo State, Onyi, accompanied by his parents, also travelled to Ondo State, to apologise to Jigo's family. The girl, however, was said to have died that very day.
"On getting to the house where my daughter was, we discovered that she was dead. Onyi confessed that he had been raping my daughter prior to her death,' Jigo said.
PUNCH Metro learnt that after the girl's demise, irate youths in the area attempted to lynch the 14-year-old boy.
The bereaved father was said to have intervened and reported the matter to a nearby police station, where the teenager was held for safe keeping. The next morning, Onyi and his parents travelled back to Lagos.
The alleged rapist's parents, in company with a chief in Ikorodu, reportedly visited Jigo when he returned to Lagos. The group were said to have pleaded that the bereaved father should not pursue the case but he refused.
Jigo said, "I went to the Ikorodu Police station to report the case but was surprised when the policemen on duty said I should not write any statement. They only told me to write down my telephone number and said they would call me later.
"After waiting for many days without any call, I wrote a petition and the matter was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba."
It was however learnt that Onyi had been taken to his father's hometown in Delta State thereby stalling police investigation.
The teenager's parents, however described the incident as the handiwork of the devil.
The 14-year-old boy's father, Andrew Adimabua, said, "I trained that boy in the way of the Lord and expected so much from him. He has confessed to the act; there is nothing to hide. He told me that he learnt about sex by watching blue (pornographic) films.
"We are not hiding him and we will cooperate with the police. On the day the little girl died, he was beaten up and made to stay in the rain for hours. As a result, he contracted pneumonia so we sent him home for treatment. When he recovers, he'll be taken to the police for questioning."
Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, expressed shock at the development.
Braide said Onyi would be re-arrested in the course of investigation.
"It is appalling that a teenager could indulge in such act. The matter is under investigation and the culprit will be re-arrested."

President Jonathan Working Hard To Shield Aviation Minister,Both Share Same Hotel In Jerusalem
Contrary to the impression created by President Goodluck Jonathan that he plans to 'probe' the Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah over the fraudulent purchase of two BMW armored cars, Saharareporters can authoritatively report that the President and his team are working very hard to shield the Minister.
SaharaReporters investigations show that Mrs. Oduah was listed as one of the 54 officials that traveled within the inner circle of the President to Israel. President Jonathan however gave her the permission to travel ahead of the delegation 24 hours early under the guise that she would be signing the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) between Nigeria and Israel. As it turns out, the BASA agreement is not due for signing until October 29, following which Mr. Jonathan will depart for Nigeria.
Mrs. Oduah is also one of the ministers listed to follow the President to a meeting with President Mahmoud Abbas in the Occupied Palestinian territory, also on October 29.
Since arriving in Israel, Mr. Jonathan and several officials, including Mrs. Oduah, have occupied the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, and she has had direct access and regular meetings with the President.
Our reporters have seen her many times at meetings. An attempt by a student journalist to interview her was rebuffed as Mrs. Oduah claimed the student was a SaharaReporters journalist seeking to put her into more trouble.
Since arriving Israel, President Goodluck Jonathan has employed the services of Senator Emmanuel Paulker from his home state of Bayelsa to reach out to lawmakers to chill the ongoing investigations.
The Nigerian Senate is reportedly in alignment but the House of Representatives is seen to be a bit more aggressive, which was the reason Mr. Jonathan decided to set up a "probe panel" that would slow down the situation so that Mrs. Oduah can keep her job.
A Presidency source told SaharaReporters that President Jonathan has little regard for the probe going on at the House of Representatives, calling them "hungry people." The implication is that they can easily be bought with money. The source said Mrs. Oduah would most likely ignore the House aviation committee subpoena for Tuesday next week
In all, the Nigeria delegation in Israel is said to be over 800 officials, which means it is considerably larger than the delegates that travelled with Mr. Jonathan to the 68th United Nations General Assembly last month, as was reported by SaharaReporters.
Among them our reporters stated that there are at least 11 governors, 8 deputy governors and 14 Ministers.
The governors include Gabriel Suswam of Benue state, Godswill Akapbio of Akwa Ibom, Liyel Imoke of Cross Rivers, Martin Elechi of Ebonyi, Theodore Orji of Abia State, Peter Obi of Anambra, Jonah Jang of Plateau and Emmanuel uduaghan of Delta State. The Bayelsa State governor whose whereabouts has been mystery is expected to join the train later tonight.
In addition to Mrs. Oduah, the Ministers are Jumoke Akinjide, (minister of state for FCT), Godsday Orube (Niger Delta), Olubolade (Police Affairs), Nyeson Wike (Education), Labaran Maku (Minister of information), the minister of Trade and investment and Fiancnae minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala are also expected to join later.
It would be recalled that the presidency announcement of the visit by spokesman Reuben Abati last Tuesday listed only Senator Paulker; the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Akinwunmi Adesina; the Minister of Water Resources, Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe; the Minister of Works, Mike Onolememen; the Minister of State (Foreign Affairs), Prof Viola Onwuliri; and the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki as the officials accompanying President Jonathan.
I have not seen Stella since 2011. Chief Chris Ogiemwonyi, Stella Oduah's ex husband
When Saturday PUNCH got across to the former junior minister on the telephone on Wednesday in Benin, he said he had not seen his former wife since 2011. He also said he had nothing new to add to what is already in the public domain about the car scandal.
He however did not offer any opinion regarding the action of NCAA and his former wife's likely role in the country's show of profligacy, saying both had not seen since she became minister.
The former minister for state said Nigerians know of what has been happening and that he had nothing to say or add. He however empathised with her.
Said Ogiemwonyi, "What concerns me about her? We have been separated and since she became minister, we have not seen. You know the time when the issue of dropping my name came up. We have not seen since then. We all read comments in the papers, everybody is listening and even the National Assembly, on the blogs; they are all full. But all I can tell you is that I last saw Stella in May 2011; that was when I saw her last. Since she became minister, I haven't seen her. All I can say is that I wish her well, but there is nothing more I can say."
Asked whether he was not bothered about the controversy generated by the minister's predicament, he said that was the least of his problems.
Both Ogiemwonyi and Oduah were said to and become friends when they were working for the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation. While the former husband was a young engineer, Oduah was with the account department of the oil corporation. Their friendship blossomed and they later became husband and wife.
A blue-blood, Stella Oduah is the daughter of Igwe D. O. Oduah, Akili Ozizo of Ogbaru in Anambra State. She was born on January 5, 1962.

President Jonathan sets up committee to probe Oduah car scandal
Mr Abati said the panel will be chaired by the immediate past Head of Service, Sali Bello and will include the National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki, and Air Vice Marshal Dik Iruenebere. The panel is to find out why the cars were bought and whether the procurement of the cars followed due process or not. Stella Oduah was conspicuously absent at today's Federal Executive Council meeting.
US Sen. Claims Nigerian email scammers have been hired to run the Obamacare website
Senator Cruz said:
"You may have noticed that all the Nigerian email scammers have become a lot less active lately. They all have been hired to run the Obamacare website."
