CAN prays for Oshiomhole’s victory

WITH the countdown to the July 14, gubernatorial election in Edo State, the Christian Association of Nigeria, under the umbrella body of Religious/ Contact Committee yesterday in Benin, rounded up prayer and fasting for Governor Oshiomhole’s victory at the poll.The prayer and fasting session held at the main auditorium of Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium were made up of Christians across various inter-denominations within the three senatorial districts and outside the state.

Special prayers were equally said for the Comrade Governor who was physically present along with other ACN chieftains and Director General of his campaign Organisation, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
Presiding Bishop, Calvary Kingdom Church Inc. Ojo Joseph assured that come rain, come ,Comrade Governor Oshiomhole will be re-elected owing to the fact that he has laid series of developmental foundations of projects which must be completed.
In his speech of appreciation, Governor Oshiomhole prayed God to give him the courage not to concede to the forces of darkness, those who want to privatize the resources of the State and their bindings which he said are inimical to the overall interest of Edo people.
He equally asked God to grant him the spirit to constantly put him in remembrance of those promises, courage and conviction to do what is right in the sight of the Almighty God, adding that the fact that he is alive today is by God’s mercy and infinite power.
Rev. Bishop Iyobosa Atoe of the Jesus Reigneth Chapel Incorporated, said the gathering was put in place by minsters of the Gospel from various denomination to pray for the Comrade Governor Oshiomhole following his unprecedented performance in the last three and half years.
‘’We endorsed him and prayed for him and we want him to continue. God will ensure he is re-elected no matter the forces of darkness, we took it as a challenge to pray for him, we believe he is coming back again for another four years term come July 14th. We are progressive minded people, we are not sadists and to that end we want to do it, we want development since the man is doing well”
Rev.Peter Obadan, former deputy governor to the first executive governor of the State, who said there is no cause for fear noted that there is no substitute for Governor Oshiomhole
He said the body decided to take spiritual charge of the atmosphere of the state just like Jesus Christ did in the garden of Gethsemane for the fact that God has not finish with Governor
