7 Pupils Die In Flood

Seven pupils have lost their lives in a flood caused by a heavy downpour that lasted for over three hours yesterday.
The sad incident occurred at the Living Foundation Nursery And Primary School, Tudun Kwari, Lafia.
According to an eye witness, who craved anonymity, the pupils who were within the ages of 7 to 12 were in their classes when the building collapsed on them due to the heavy downpour.
She added that after the building collapsed, the pupils were pulled into the flood and in the process about seven of them drowned.

The eyewitness added that more pupils would have lost their lives if rescuers had not come to their aid.

Tudun kwari a community along the Lafia-Makurdi Road is known for flooding whenever there is heavy downpour due to the location of the community in an erosion prone area.
