Assam Rape Festival In India Begins This Week

Assam, INDIA : Men in India are already beginning to celebrate as the annual Assam Rape Festival is just days away. Every non-married girl age 7-16 will have the chance to flee to safety or get raped. Madhuban Ahluwalia who heads up the annual festival told reporters why the event is so important. "This is a long time tradition in Assam dating back thousands of years," says Ahluwalia. "We rape the evil demons out of the girls, otherwise they will cheat on us and we will be forced to kill them. So it is necessary for everyone." The Assam Festival began in 43 BC when Baalkrishan Tamil Nadu raped everyone in his village of Doomdooma. Baalkrishan Tamil Nadu is remembered every year at this event, in fact the trophy given to the man with the most rapes is called "The Baalkrishan". 24-year-old Harikrishna Majumdar told reporters that he has been training all year for this event. "I'm going to get the most rapes this year. I've been practicing all year. I rape my sister and her friends every day. I will be rape superstar number one! I will get the Baalkrishan prize this year for sure!" 12-year-old Jaitashri Majumdar told reporters she almost made it through last year's festival without getting raped. "I came so close to not getting raped. I almost got to the 'rape-free-zone' at the edge of town, but at the last minute 9 men jumped on me and raped me. Luckily I am just recovering now so I can participate in this year's events, otherwise I would be put to death by stoning." 34-year-old Brian Barnett from Toronto who is visiting Assam on business told reporters he will be missing the festivities this year. "My company did not tell me anything about a rape festival happening while I was here. Are you serious, a rape festival? I'm getting the f*ck out of this backwards country tonight." India is second in reported rapes in the world only behind the United States, though critics are quick to point out that is only because most rapes in India go unreported. For more information about the festival or if you would like to participate, please call the 24-hour India Rape Festival hotline at (785) 273-0325.

:Bloody campaign in Anambra, over 30 Ngige supporters die in church Stampede

Over 30 persons died in the early morning hours of [November 2, 2013] at a campaign event of the All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA] at a prayer house in Uke in Idenmili – Anambra central senatorial district
Governor Peter Obi and his candidate, Willie Obiano had arrived to the prayer house [Adoration Ministry] at the early morning hours of about 12:15am to address the audience that had come for night vigil.

The arrival caught the audience unaware and surprising. And as Peter Obi mounted the stage to address the audience – the audience broke out in a quiet murmur – unsure of what to make of it, the Governor continued to deliver his campaign speech with Willie Obiano standing beside him. Governor Peter Obi promised to make available N5million to the prayer house to help tackle a gully erosion site near the Adoration grounds.
As he spoke, the quiet murmuring grew louder – followed by chants of 'Onwa, Onwa'. And in reaction to the chants of Onwa, Willie Obiano/Peter Obi's men including security operatives began rushing towards the area where the chants of Onwa was coming from. The chanters were moving away from the approaching armed men. In the process, it turned into a stampede.
At the end of the stampede, over 28 corpses were seen littered on the grounds. An estimate of over 200 were injured. A large percent of the dead and injured are believed to be Ngige supporters, this is according to one of the survivors of the stampede – who also added that "they rejected Obiano and willie and were chanting Ngige Ngige it took hours to calm the crowd by Father Ebube Muonso so that Peter Obi could speak. Peter Obi made donation of N2million to the Reverend Father. The Father rejected it and ask him to give that to the poor whom he have starved for years. And later there was a stampede. Obiano and Peter Obi has sucked the blood of innocent worshippers. Peter Obi is the Chimaroke of Anambra"
28 corpses have been deposited at Crown Hospital Nkpor. The wounded taken to Borromeo Hospital.

B’Haram attacks wedding convoy, kills groom, 29 others

Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members  have ambushed a convoy of vehicles conveying  people returning from a wedding ceremony, killing scores of  them, including the groom in  Bulakuri village, Borno State.
The fate of  the bride and her family members was  unknown as of Sunday when Adamawa State Government Spokesman, Ahmad Sajoh, confirmed the incident to the Associated Press.
Although Sajoh  said the wedding fatiha, the official Muslim ceremony, took  place in Firgi village in   Borno State, the Agence France Presse reported that it  held in  Michika, Adamawa State.
The two news agencies however  put the    casualty figure at  30 but  an Army spokesman, Captain Muhammed, said  it was five.
"The  report received from our troops indicated that some terrorists attacked a bus at Bulakuri village and killed five persons ," Dole said in a statement on Sunday evening, adding that the  bodies were taken to  a mortuary in Bama.
According to some of the survivors, they were attacked  along   the   Bama-Banki Road.
That road runs alongside a forest that is a known hideout of   Boko Haram terrorists.
A driver, Kyari Buba,  who   told the AFP  that he was in the middle of the convoy of about five vehicles when the gunmen struck, added  that he saw more than 30 dead bodies on the side of the road.
He  said,"  I was in the middle of the convoy when the gunmen attacked and I was able to stop my  vehicle on time to open the door and run into the bush along with the people I was with.
"When we returned long after the gunmen were gone, we met a gory scene  with more than 30 people shot dead or slaughtered.
"All the victims were brutally murdered by the attackers."
Another  survivor and friend of the groom, Japhet Haruna, recounted his escape from the assailants.
He said, "I wonder how I and few other people survived the onslaught because it was well-coordinated. I was in the fifth vehicle in the convoy and when I realised that the attackers were out to kill, I ran into the bush.
"I believe it is God that saved me and (a) few others from their bullets. They targeted everybody in the convoy -  Muslims, Christians and children."
Haruna said there were about 50 people in the convoy and that he suspected Boko Haram to have carried out the attack.
The AP also quoted a  minibus taxi driver  as saying, "We saw a lot of dead bodies killed by gunshots and some by the roadside that appeared to have been slaughtered" with their throats slit.
The  driver, who asked to be identified only as Shaibu, told  journalists in    Maiduguri on Sunday,   that  his terrified passengers wanted him to turn back.
