Dillish from Namibia wins Big Brother The Chase!

In what came off as a huge surprise to many fans across the continent especially to the Nigerians as Melvin and Beverly were evicted in the finale of the show as well as Cleo representing Zambia ,and Elikem
representing Ghana. Yes we're talking, Big Brother Africa The Chase finale.

It will come as shock to many viewers in West Africa who felt Melvin, Beverly & Elikem had a great shot of claiming the grand prize. Beverly had made a huge name for herself for the viewers as her steamy relationship with South Africa's Angelo gathered a lot of attention across the continent as well as hate.

However Dilish Matthews walks away with 300,000 USD as the cash prize and will undoubtedly become a household name for years to come as she is the winner of this year's Big Brother Africa.

After expressing her desires to be the first woman to win the Big Brother grand prize since Zambia's Cherise did so seven seasons ago, Dillish has done it for all of Africa's women!

The gorgeous Namibian started her Chase race as the proverbial underdog and was labeled everything from lazy to a pampered princess. As the Chase rolled on however, Dillish quickly emerged as a very strong contender for the Chase title and won her fellow Housemates and Africa over, with her quirky, accented alter ego, aptly titled Princess Dillish.

The Namibian made sure to stay away from trouble and coasted through the Chase by taking her place behind the scenes. While her fellow Housemates got themselves into hot water, fighting and gossiping their way to what they hoped was the top of the mountain, Dillish remained grounded and maintained cordial relations with her fellow Housemates.

The only time the Namibian got herself in a spot of trouble was when she and her good friend, Nigeria's Melvin, had a disagreement after she told her fellow Housemates about a relationship he was involved in, which was less than stellar. Dillish and Cleo proved to all and sundry that women are indeed a force of nature. The two hotties pipped their male counterparts, Elikem and Melvin to the Top 2 while, as well as their close friend Beverly.

Before the big news was delivered, Pebbles the fish surprised all and sundry with one last speech. "On behalf of myself and the other fish, I would like to congratulate you on your amazing feat. You are the specialest ladies in Africa," Pebbles said.

However, one thing is clear! Tonight is Dillish's night and oh whata moment it was! As soon as the Namibian was announced the winner of the Chase, the Namibian broke down in a heap of tears at the realisation that she has a cool USD 300 000 sitting in her bank account. Yes Africa. She came, she saw and she conquered. In heels even! Congratulations to Delicious Dillish!

In the final minutes, Beverly was the first to get evicted, followed by Melvin, then Elikem and to the surprise of many, Cleo and Dilish were shocked to be in the final 2. The two Nigerians received the lowest votes after an intense round of voting.

In the final moment, Cleo was announced as evicted and automatically, Dilish became the winner of the 8th edition Big Brother Africa.

Boy who hid inside ARIK aircraft wheel thought the plane was going to America

Teen stowaway, Daniel Ihekina, who was arrested at the Lagos Airport after flying in the tyre hole of an Arik plane from Benin to Lagos on Saturday morning, thought he was on a US-bound flight.

A source at the Benin Airport who disclosed this said the boy's parents had already departed for Lagos in search of the stowaway.

The airport source, who did not want his name in print said, "From what we heard, the boy said he was being maltreated and tried to escape from his parents. He thought he was on his way to the US.

"The parents have travelled to Lagos by road, to get him back."

Meanwhile, investigations conducted by one of our correspondents in Lagos revealed that the boy had been handed over to the operatives of the State Security Services for further investigation.

The General Manager, Corporate Communications, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Mr. Yakubu Dati, who also confirmed the development, said the aviation security personnel of the agency had handed over the young voyager to the men of the SSS for extensive investigation.

Dati said, "The residential address the boy gave to us was traced to a church in Benin by our airport manager and his team. So, there is need to hand over the teenager to the SSS who are experts in such investigations. They will carry out further investigation on the matter."

The FAAN spokesman said the nature and circumstances surrounding the crime informed the agency decision to hand over the stowaway to the SSS operatives.

Meanwhile, following the Benin Airport incident, FAAN has adopted the 'risk amelioration processes to safeguard flight operations' at all its 22 airports across  the country.

Dati stressed that the agency had tightened its risk amelioration procedure to ensure that similar incident did not occur again.

He also said the agency had prioritised the perimeter fencing of all the 22 airports in the country.

"In the meantime, we have adopted risk amelioration processes to safeguard flight operations. As a result of this incident in Benin, we have further tightened our risk amelioration procedure to ensure that a similar incident does not occur," he  said.

However, FAAN has also continued to trade blame with Arik Air over the Benin incident.

The agency, in a statement on Sunday, said it read with "great dismay the statement released by Arik Airlines about the stowaway found on board Arik's flight 544 from Benin to Lagos on Saturday 24 August, 2013."
Dati said FAAN was "unfairly indicted" while the airline took no responsibility whatsoever for such a "serious security breach."

FAAN said its preliminary investigation had revealed that Arik did not give accurate account of the Benin Airport incident.

Giving the accounts of its preliminary findings, FAAN said, "Our investigations reveal that a passenger on board the flight called the attention of the cabin crew while the aircraft was waiting to take off at the threshold of the runway, to the effect that they had seen a young boy walk under the aircraft and had not seen him re-appear on the other side."

"The cabin crew in turn informed the pilots in the cockpit about this. The pilots called the control tower and asked them to request FAAN to do a sweep of the area after their departure, opting to carry on with their flight despite the report."

"Upon the arrival of the aircraft in Lagos, we were informed that there had been a stowaway found alive alighting from the wheel well of the aircraft. While FAAN takes this security breach extremely seriously, we deem Arik's attempt at indicting and smearing FAAN as irresponsible. Safety and security breaches occur when all the checks in the system are beaten.  Given that security is a responsibility for all players in this industry, a critical last opportunity to detect and prevent this stowaway was offered and had the airline taken the information by passengers as seriously as they should have, this incident would have been avoided."

Transfer record:Real Madrid land Bale with £86 MILLION

Gareth Bale is free to join Real Madrid after Tottenham agreed a world record £86million deal with the Spanish giants on Sunday night.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy signed off the staggering move for the PFA Player of the Year following talks with directors in the boardroom at White Hart Lane. Bale's transfer to Real beats the previous world record of £80m which Real paid to Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.

Levy returned from talks in Madrid with Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett and Tottenham director of football Franco Baldini to watch his club's 1-0 victory over Swansea City after agreeing the deal.

Bale's transfer to Real beats the previous world record of £80m which the Spanish giants paid to Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.

Levy returned from talks in Madrid with Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett and Tottenham director of football Franco Baldini to watch his club's 1-0 victory over Swansea City after agreeing the deal.

It is understood that the decision to travel to Madrid to meet Perez — who is known to revel in these situations — was part of a tactic designed to get the highest possible price.

The fee represents an extraordinary return on the £7m Spurs paid Southampton six years ago and will only add to Levy's reputation as the toughest negotiator in the game.

It also brings to an end one of the most protracted transfer sagas in the history of the game following a summer of talks.
