'Nigeria wouldn't have peace until all christians follow Islam' - BOKO HARAM

Radical islamist militant group Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the bombing of three churches that killed at least 50 people in Zaria and Kaduna town on Sunday. The sect targeted mostly children and women in the Zaria attacks.

The Islamists occupying northern Mali on Wednesday gave a couple 100 lashes of a whip for having a child out of wedlock


“At Sankore Square in Timbuktu, a man and a women got 100 lashes for having had a child outside of marriage,” said local official Mohamed Ould Baby.

Female Student Drugged and raped on campus by YabaTech Student


 Adegoke Kehinde, a student of Yaba College of Technology, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, has been arrested by the police for allegedly drugging and raping a female student (name withheld) on campus.


The 24-year old Kehinde has been charged before the Yaba Magistrate’s court on a two-count charge of rape and assault.

We Got N7K To Bomb EYN Church In Biu - Boko Haram Suspects



Seven suspected Boko Haram men alleged to have masterminded the attack on Ekklizivar Yan’uwa A Nigeria (EYN) Church in Biu, Borno State recently said they were paid N7, 000 each to carry out the attack which left no fewer than three worshipers dead.

One of the seven suspects, Ibrahim Mohammed Babangida, who spoke with journalists from his custody said one Magaji Bala, a butcher paid N7, 500 to him as his engagement fee to carry out the dastard act.

Bomb Scare In Abuja, Offices Evacuate Staff



Offices have been evacuated over fears that a deadly explosive had been planted in a location in the city centre.


The Wuse Zone 5 area of Abuja is in chaos, as organizations scramble to evacuate staff, after information spread of a perceived bomb in the area.

The explosive device is believed to be planted between Top View Hotel and the headquarters of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps office in the area.

The area also has the headquarters of the People’s Democratic Party, banks, and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

A witness, who works with FIRS told PREMIUM TIMES that the entire area has been evacuated and the police anti-bomb squad alerted. He said heavy traffic has built up in the area, movement restricted to one lane.

“We are waiting for the anti bomb squad to either detonate it or declare the area safe,” the witness said.

Pres Jonathan Sacks Defence Minister and National Security Adviser


President Goodluck Jonathan this evening fired both the National Security Adviser, Andrew Oweiye Azazi and Defence Minister, Bello Haliru, according to the Presidential Spokesperson, Reuben Abati.

Azazi has been replaced with Sambo Dasuki, a retired colonel.

26 year old unemployed Nigerian, Nathaniel Udama Adu, is in the grips of the Mile 7 Police in connection with the murder of a 19-year-old SHS leaver, Matilda Asante, believed to be his girlfriend, at Tantra Hills in Accra.

Detectives from the station were dispatched immediately after information got to the station at about 7:45am on Monday, June 18, 2012 that a dead body had been found at Tantra Hills.

Susie Q's club finally closed 4 months after her murder

Susan Yusuf's Club, SQ, has finally been closed down for good four months after her brutal murder. The club, located at Younis Bashorun Street, Victoria Island, was shut down this month following the new management's inability to renew their rent which expired a few months ago. The club lost most of its customers and spark after Susan's death. Susan ran the club all by herself when she was alive so there was really no one to continue from where she stopped.

Susan was stabbed to death at her 1000 flat on Friday February 10th 2012.

Court sentences man to death for stealing N1,705 cash & N400 milk

A Jos High Court on Thursday sentenced a 26-year-old man, Obinah John, to death by hanging for robbing one Dorothy Olaniyi of N1,705. The convict was also sentenced to death for robbing Olaniyi of two rolls of peak milk in sachets, valued at N400.

Nigerian man found dead at his home in Bel Air , Maryland USA

 
Titus Onuoha (pictured above) was found dead on the 14th of June 2012, on his apartment lawn, in Bel Air, Maryland. He was found lying face down on the ground at his apartment complex and nobody knows what happened or how it happened. The preliminary autopsy result shows trauma to the back of his head and neck. No suspect yet, police are still investigating.

Ambassador Olusegun Olusola dies at 77

Veteran broadcaster and former Nigeria's Ambassador to Ethiopia, Chief Olusegun Olusola, has passed away. He died 6:30pm this evening June 21, 2012 after a brief illness, according to his aide.

Chief Olusola was the producer of the famous Village Headmaster TV drama and founder of the African Refugees Foundation. He was 77 years old. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

13 hospitalised following students’ bloody clash at FGGC Abuloma
