Wizkid finally gets Car prize That he won last year

 

The music star finally got his Headies Music Award Next Rated' prize - a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. Wizkid won the next rated category at the 2011 edition of one of Nigeria’s leading urban music event - The Headies, beating Ice Prince, Tiwa Savage and Olamide.

The car was presented to him on Friday July 13th, 2012 at Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos.

NBC fined N60m: for cockroach contaminated softdrink

A High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has slammed  N6 million against the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) as special and general damages to Messrs Keregbe Kpa and Nuka Livingstone. The company was to pay the amount to Kpa and Livingstone, as special and general damages caused them by the company after consuming contaminated drinks.

Gov Fashola Arrests Army officers on BRT lane (photos)

I guess nobody is above the law. Governor Fashola yesterday 'arrested' (more like confronted) two senior military officers who drove on the  BRT lane at the Outer Marina in Lagos. The Governor was around the area when he spotted the military car driving on the Bus Rapid Transit lane which is meant strictly for the BRT buses, and came down from his own car to confront the men.

No arrest was made but the military officers were at least embarrassed by the confrontation.

She has been diabetic for years, and when it started many months back, we got good doctors to treat her in Jos. But when we couldn't get good result, we brought her to Lagos. We took her to St Nicholas Hospital and everybody who went to see her in the hospital cried. She had lost a lot of weight and couldn't recognise us. She called me Jude. I can never forget that day.

Muslim school in jos targeted by rocket

A 10-year-old boy has died after a rocket propelled Grenade was fired at a school in the Nigerian city of Jos but missed and hit a nearby building, officials say.The school authorities say the boy was not a pupil at the large co-educational institution owned by the city's Muslim community.The BBC's Ishaq Khalid in Jos says the students were sitting their exams at the time of the blast.Jos has witnessed years of inter-ethnic and religious violence.

The city is the capital of Plateau state, which lies on the fault line between Nigeria's mainly Muslim north and Christian and animist south.
