One of Hong Kong's richest men, 76year old Cecil Chao Sze-tsung, is offering $65 million to any man who can turn his gay daughter straight, and walk her down the aisle. Cecil Chao made the offer after his daughter Gigi, 33, married her girlfriend of seven years, Seab Eav in France. 

The old man has refused to accept that his daughter is married as same-sex marriages are not recognised in Hong Kong...and now he's offering not just money but also to start his potential son-in-law up in his own business  

'I don’t mind whether he is rich or poor – the important thing is that he is generous and kind-hearted,’ he told the South China Morning of the ideal husband for his daughter.

Cab Driver Who Returned Forgotten 18million,Rewarded with $15,860

Can we all remember the story of the honest taxi driver, (Mr Imeh Usuah)  who returned $120,000, (About 18 Million Naira) left in his car by a passenger.

While some Nigerians commended his honesty, others called him a fool, considering the fact that the taxi driver wasn't too financially buoyant himself.

Coupled with the fact that, until recently he hasn't been rewarded for his good deed.

  Wownaija earlier reported that Mr Usuah was awarded by the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and given a token amount of N30,000. An amount which many criticized as being to small.

Ugo Ozuah allegedly shot dead by police 5days after his wedding

Ugo Ozuah was allegedly shot by men of the Nigerian police force in front of the UPS office on the Gbagada Express way on Thursday September 20th. He died early Saturday morning at a hospital in Lagos. Ugo just got married last Saturday September 15th, 2012.

Details as to what really happened that Thursday night are sketchy but according to friends of the late
 businessman, he was at the expressway with another friend trying to flag down a taxi around 9 at night, when policemen pulled up and shot him twice in the chest at close range. They said he was not resisting arrest, he wasn't arguing with the police, he was not asked to identify himself, he was just standing there with a friend and got killed for no reason.

Sounds crazy to me! The IG of police has said the men that killed the newly married man were not policemen...but they were wearing police uniform, so who were they?

This is truly sad, and quite unfortunate! I can't even imagine what his wife would be going through now. Hopefully, Ugo's family will get justice for this senseless killing!

Huge protests in Kano over anti-Islam movie

 

Tens of thousands of Nigerians on Saturday protested on the streets of Nigeria’s city of Kano against an anti-Islam film made in the US that has stirred outrage across the Muslim world.


The crowd of demonstrators stretched several kilometres through the city, the largest in Nigeria’s mainly Muslim north, with protesters shouting “death to America, death to Israel and death to the enemies of Islam”.

There had been protests in Zaria, in Kaduna state and an attempt to stage one in the volatile city of Jos was broken with the security agencies firing guns into the air to dismiss the demonstrators.

FIFA:Nigeria is third worst football developing nation’

WORLD football ruling body, FIFA, has come out with a damning verdict on Nigerian football, saying the country is the third worst soccer developing nation in the world, according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Committee member, Adegboye Onigbinde.Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, and the men and women football event of the 2012 Olympics. In 2011, both its men and women teams failed to qualify for the 2011 All Africa Games.

Hausa Man caught selling vultures as chicken in Port Harcourt

This Hausa 'chicken' seller was caught trapping vultures in Onne, Port Harcourt, roasting and selling them as suya meat to unsuspecting buyers.

He said he started out selling real chicken but when it became too expensive, he started trapping vultures and selling to his customers as chicken. Vulture meat? Ewwwwww!

Presidency Suspends Introduction Of 5000 Naira Note

 

The Special Adviser to the President on Media, Dr. Reuben Abati, disclosed the development to State House correspondents in Abuja.

 

Abati told journalists that Jonathan’s latest disposition to the issue was based on the need for more “enlightenment and consultation”.

 

He said, “The introduction of the new note is being suspended for now to enable the CBN do more enlightenment on the issue.Yes, President Jonathan has directed that the implementation of the new N5,000 note be suspended for now.

John Mikel Obi deletes twitter account after racist abuse

 

Mikel Obi  deleted his Twitter account after he was racially abused for 'costing' Chelsea victory in the opening match of their Champions League defence against Juventus yesterday Wednesday Sept. 19th.

The match ended 2-2 and Chelsea fans blamed Mikel for giving the ball away just ten minutes before time and also not preventing the equalizing goal. After the end of the game, Chelsea fans racially abused Mikel on his Twitter account @Mikel12Official, prompting the Super Eagles midfielder to delete the account which he set up just a few months back.

Chelsea said they have informed the police after being made aware of the racist Tweets. A statement read:

We've been made aware of racist tweets targeted at Mikel which are totally unacceptable, disgusting and abhorrent. We've informed the police and support taking the strongest possible action."

Nigerian minicab driver in the UK to pay almost £1.2million for fraud

A minicab driver who claimed he was earning just £700 a month but was living a luxury of life in his Nigerian mansion, has been ordered to pay almost £1.2million.
Ovo Mayomi and his wife Juliet Ubiribo were convicted of fraud in 2010 after using an identity and immigration scam to falsely claim £43,000 in benefits.
But fraud investigators found Mayomi and his wife were actually living in a large luxurious house in Lekki near the Nigerian capital Lagos worth more than £1million complete with chandeliers and £89,000 worth of sound equipment. He also had a £25,000 watch. His wife wore a Rolex watch and drove a Mercedes Sport Coupi.

Man assaults girl inside church toilet

A 30-year-old man, Taoreed Oseni, was yesterday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate's Court in Lagos for allegedly assaulting an 18-year old girl, Azeez Titilayo.

Oseni was alleged to have raped Titilayo in a church toilet at Oshodi, a Lagos suburb.
The accused, whose residential address is unknown, is facing a one-count charge of rape.
Prosecuting Police Inspector Rachael Williams told the court that Oseni committed the offence on July 20.
She said the accused assaulted the young girl in a toilet at the Methodist Church, Ogunlende Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi.
The accused, she said, forced his way into the toilet without the girl’s consent.
The offence, Williams said, is punishable under Section 260 of the Criminal Law No. 11 Vol.44 Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011. When the charges were read, Oseni pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate A.B. Olagbegi-Adelabu ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody till September 20.
