Paul Adefarasin Completes N3 Billion Cathedral

Pastor Paul Adefarasin's led House on the Rock church building, Rock Cathedral, which has gulped about N3 billion to erect, has been finally completed. The church which sits on 32, 000 square meters, will sit at least 10, 000 thousand worshipers in the church auditorium and another 10,000 within the church premises and may be declared open for use in December 2012.

The Rock Cathedral, also known as Millennium Temple, took almost 8 years to complete and is situated along the Lekki Epe Express way, close to Liberty Hall.

The highlife music star is getting ready to officially open his night club - 2nite Club - in Enugu. The opening will take place next Wednesday October 24th. His new album listening party will hold at the club on that day.

You Can Keep Stolen Child:UK Court Tells Nigerian Couple

A couple, who could not have children, have been told by the High Court in United Kingdom they can keep a baby born in Nigeria, despite tests showing they were not the child’s biological parents.

The mother said she was tricked by a doctor into believing she had given birth while sedated, after she went to Nigeria for fertility treatment.

But the judge ruled they were victims of an “appalling scam.”

The 13 suspects arrested in connection with the murder of four UNIPORT students have been charged before a Port Harcourt Magistrate on a five-count charge of conspiracy and murder and were yesterday remanded in prison till the case comes up again in December. The Nigeria Police Force has also dismissed the policeman who was part of the mob that killed the students. The policeman has been identified as Lucky Orji.

Ifeanyi Uba Spends Second Week In Detention

The billionaire businessman and MD of Capital Oil and Gas Ltd is currently in a small cell at the Special Fraud Unit in Ikoyi. He was arrested on October 9th following accusations of fraud totaling N43billion from the Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede led presidential committee on verification and reconciliation of fuel subsidy payments. The committee discovered gross abuse by many marketers and reported the case to the police. His company leads the list of 25 companies indicted by the committee which discovered about N62 billion of subsidy fraud.

So he's now facing criminal investigation and prosecution for Capital Oil and Gas' involvement in fuel subsidy fraud. He was in court yesterday and the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigerian Police told the court that the money stolen by Mr Uba, could conveniently pay the monthly allocation of 11 states of the federation and asked the courts not to grant him bail, which they didn't. The case was adjourned to Monday October 22nd.

Meanwhile, his company has been blacklisted by banks on the recommendation of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Pateince Jonathan Denie Undergoing Cosmetic Surgery

The First Lady who came back into the country today from her 2-months medical trip has denied undergoing cosmetic surgery in Germany. When asked by reporters at the airport tarmac if that was what she went to Germany for, Patience Jonathan vehemently denied it. I listened and even recorded her answer on STV 10 0'clock news and below are her exact words

God knows I have never been to that hospital. I don't even know where that hospital is. I do not have terminal illness, or rather any cosmetic surgery, more or less tummy-tuck. My husband loves me who I am and I am pleased with how God created me. I cannot add but the same time I will use this opportunity to thank my beloved husband and my children and my staff in general and all Nigerians. The men on the street for standing behind me during my trial time. But God has given me a second chance to come and work with the women of Nigeria, the children and the less privileged and the needy. Astronomers Discover new Planet With 4 SUNS

An international team of amateur and professional astronomers has discovered a planet whose skies are lit up by four suns — the first known case of such a phenomenon.


The planet, located about 5,000 light years from Earth, has been dubbed PH1 in honor of Planet Hunters, a programme led by Yale University in the United States, which enlists volunteers to look for signs of new planets.

Faces Of Killers:Aluu 4 MURDERERS Paraded

The Rivers Police Command has arrested 13 suspects in connection with the alleged killing of four students of the University of Port Harcourt, in Aluu community.

The suspects included 12 males aged between 20 years and 59 years and a female, Miss Lucky Orji.

It can be recalled that four students of the University of Port Hacourt were killed in the Aluu community in Ikwere Local Government Area of the state on Oct. 5.

Yinka Ayefele:crys For Compensation Over Plans By SG To Demolish His Multi Million House

 

The Oyo state government is planning to demolish the multi million naira music house - The Yinka Ayefele Music House, belonging to Tungba music creator, Yinka Ayefele, which is situated along Falana Rd in Ibadan . 

The state government said last week that the building is being considered for demolition because its on the right-of-way for the planned 8-lane road expansion in Ibadan. 

Reacting publicly for the first time since he got the news, Ayefele told Gbenga Shaba of Yes! Magazine that the planned demolition is a test of his faith.

"I know it's a test of my faith and it will soon pass. I observed the stipulated distance range for the building, but no one knew that the area would soon attract an 8-lane way, which will mean more lands have to give way for the expansion. I know I'm not the only one this will affect. there are hundreds of good people of Oyo state who derive their daily meals from different activities that are carried out in the building. I know the governor of Oyo state will now allow injustice to be carried out. I know he has a good heart and if the house is demolished, I hope I will be duely compensated.

EX Super Eagles Keeper..Peter Rufai Colaps,Hospitalised

Former Super Eagles goal keeper and captain, Peter Rufai, yesterday night suddenly slumped inside his office.

The football Icon, 49, was rushed to Toki Hospital off Adeniran Ogunsanya, Surulere where doctors are doing everything they can to stabilize him. His younger brother Bruce Rufai said he's yet to come around and doctors don't know yet why he slumped.

Bruce told sports journalist, Kayode Tijani, that Peter has been taking the death of their 78 year old mother badly since her passing some days ago
