Darey's show last night was incredible.one of  the best show ever seen in Nigeria...hands down. Our First Lady said yesterday February 17th during a praise and thanksgiving ceremony she hosted at the presidential villa, that she 'died' but was miraculously resurrected after undergoing series of operations within a week. She narrated a lot about her ordeal. See it below

“I remember when Chief (Olusegun) Obasanjo was the President of the country, I was close to his late wife, Stella. We worshipped together in this chapel. It was a painful moment for me that time when she died and her corpse was brought here. That was how my corpse would have been brought here. It was not an easy experience for me. I actually died; I passed out for more than a week. My intestine and tummy were opened.

“I am not Lazarus but my experience was similar to his own. My doctors said all hope was lost.

We wed in December 2005 and were very much married when she passed indeed I was talking to her on arrival in Lagos before the fateful event

I see you moved back to England. Do you have another family?
I work in Malaysia, we have a private home in UK, I do not have a second family

Also did you have kids together?
No kids, we were planning this year

There had been speculation for many years that she was married to an ‘oyinbo’ man. But no one could lay hands on anything. Why did you keep it a ‘secret’?

Our private life is nothing to do with work life, there has to be a balance

Gunmen Kidnap Seven Setraco Foreign Workers

Seven foreign workers of giant construction company, Setraco, were kidnapped last night by gunmen in Bauchi. The attackers went to the Lebanese-owned construction site of Setraco in Jama'are town, where they killed a security guard and kidnapped the foreign workers

Adamu Aliyu, the chairman of the local government area identified those kidnapped as one British citizen, one Greek, one Italian and four Lebanese.

Bauchi State Police Chief Mohammed Ladan told AFP that the unknown gunmen first attacked a local prison, burning two police trucks, before targeting Setraco, which is in the area building a road.

Shocking news! Singer Goldie is dead

News of the death of the sensational artiste,who was a housemate at the Big Brother Africa in 2012, broke on Thursday night, throwing the Nigerian entertainment world and the larger public into mourning.
Although details of the cause of the reported death were sketchy as at press time, reports indicated that she died on Thursday night at Reddington Hospital, in Victoria Island, Lagos.
It was learnt that Goldie died in the presence of a Lagos-based entertainer, Denrele Edun, who was in the hospital with her.

When our correspondent tried to reach Edun, his phone was switched off.
But when a call was also put through to another artiste, Essence, she confirmed the incident, even as she wept profusely.Essence is on the same Kenny Music label that produced Goldie's works.
However our reporters  arrived at Reddington hospital at exactly 11:47 PM, unfortunately they were not granted access into the hospital premises. Cool FM OAPs Freeze and Dotun who had arrived earlier were also not granted access into the premises.
 
Those identified inside the hospital building include Kennis Music label boss Kenny 'Keke' Ogungbe, his younger brother ID Ogungbe, Goldie's close friend Denrele Edun, former Big Brother winners Uti Nwachukwu, Karen Igho and STV presenter Yvonne 'Vixen' Ekwere.
At 12:47 AM, the singer's corpse was loaded into a black Mercedes Benz 4matic SUV with license plate HV266-EkY. The Benz along with four other cars headed to the General Hospital, Ikeja morgue.
The body arrived at the General Hospital exactly 01:20 AM and was left in the SUV for 40 minutes while preparations were made. At 02:07, the corpse was dislodged at the Lekan Ogunsola Memorial House of the Ikeja General Hospital.

'Blade Runner' Oscar Pistorius Shoots Girl Friend Dead,Arrested

South African Olympic and Paralympic track star Oscar Pistorius, around 4am this morning shot dead his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, at his home in Pretoria. Friends of Oscar think its a Valentine's Day surprise gone wrong. Oscar, 26 and Reeva, 30 (pictured together above), have been dating for many months. Reeve was shot several times in the head, chest and arm.

Oscar, known as the “Blade Runner” for his racing prosthetics and also dubbed 'the fastest man on no-legs', has been charged with murder and is currently in police custody. He is believed to have told police he thought she was an intruder.

Police said they found a 9mm pistol at the scene and will charge the athlete to court later today.

Pistorius, who races wearing carbon fibre prosthetic blades after he was born without a fibula in both legs, was the first double amputee to run in the Olympics and reached the 400 semi-finals in London 2012.

Two Nigerian Journalists Humiliated by South African Police

Two Nigerian journalists covering the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) were kicked, dragged on the ground, threatened with cocked guns and forcibly detained for two hours by officers of the South African police in Johannesburg on Tuesday afternoon.

 

Debo Oshudun, Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for Central and Southern Africa and John Joshua Akanji, a Deputy Editor of The Sun Newspapers were onboard a taxi on their way to cover the departure of the AFCON winners Super Eagles when shortly after they both alighted, they were surrounded by no less than 20 fully armed South African police officers who threatened to shoot them after they insisted they were Journalists.

“Late August or early September, last year, I am not sure again of the dates, but it is about that time. I was privileged to be one of those nominated by the Nigeria Governors Forum to go to Germany to understudy their federal system. A Governor was picked from each of the six geo-political zones. I represented the South-East and of course, we were led by our Chairman, Rotimi Amaechi.

“On our way to Germany, I decided to go a little bit earlier, passing through London to do my medicals because of what I will call lack of our time. We do not have time here. So, I decided to take that opportunity, got to London and did my medicals and was certified fit. I was given a clean bill of health. But I had a little growth here (pointing at the right side of his neck) that was not visible to anybody. I am a very observant person. I noticed it, showed it to my doctor and he touched it and said he didn’t feel it is anything serious, that I should just try and forget it.
