Peter Okoye organized a surprise birthday bash for his heartthrob, Lola Omotayo on Sunday, 2 September, 2012 at West Fosters, located at 70, Queens Drive, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The bash was attended by family members of both Lola and Peter, including few friends who gathered at the swimming pool side of the classy rendezvous to dine and wine.

Man Caught Stealing Car in a church,Blames God




A man who was caught attempting to steal a Sport Utility Vehicle, SUV, during church service at an Anglican Church in Lagos, George Obasi, stunned his interrogators when he claimed he got a divine directive to take the SUV home.

He said he had to take the SUV since he needed money to start a new business because his former business collapsed and he has been praying over it before the day of the incident.

Worshippers at Anglican Cathedral located at Okodua Street, Kirikiri Town, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, listened in disbelief to what Obasi was telling the church securitymen who caught him in the act.

Yes, some sites actually reported that actor Chinedu Ikedieze and his wife of eight months Nneoma had a baby recently. A report he finds ridiculous. 
"Everybody knows my wife graduated from a fashion school a couple of weeks ago. Did she look pregnant or was she like a nursing mother? Yes, the photo is mine but it was taken in 2008 with a fan's baby. I don't know why it is now being recycled. I honestly don't know the intention and plan of those who are sharing the photo"

Din Patience Jonathan not ill, she’s only resting abroad -Presidency



Due to the widespread reports gathered yesterday about the first lady's health condition courtesy investigations made by the online portal, Saharareporters, a new twist emerged today as the Presidency, in its reaction on Monday, denied that Mrs Jonathan had been hospitalised for food poisoning.
Her spokesman, Ayo Osinlu, confirmed that she had travelled out of the country but denied the rumoured illness. Osinlu said the President’s wife travelled out of the country to take a “moment’s rest”. He, however, did not disclose Mrs Jonathan’s whereabouts.

Bauchi ancient wall built over 200 years ago collapses

 


A Bauchi historic wall built over 200 years ago in the famous traditional Galadiman Bauchi House collapsed on Saturday, killing two people, injuring three others.
 
The tragedy occurred in the Nassarawa Jahun area of Bauchi Metropolis when part of the ancient wall collapsed on an adjacent building. The two persons, who died were identified as Abdullahi Aliyu, 50, a father of five and his neighbour’s wife Bilkisu Yayaya, 38, a mother of five.

Dim Patience Jonathan hospitalized in Germany?

Nigeria's First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, has been in a hospital in Germany in the last four days, Abuja State House sources have told SaharaReporters, undergoing treatment for food poisoning.
The sources say Mrs. Jonathan, who is also a Permanent Secretary in the Bayelsa State civil service, was airlifted to the hospital by an air ambulance in midweek under emergency medical conditions.

National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) over the weekend banned Wande Coal's Go Low video for showing too much 'Nudity'. But fortunately for people who love the video, the ban is restricted to local TV stations. Channel O, Trace, MTV Base, Sound City etc will continue to play the video.

SUICIDE:Man commits Kills Sef in Surulere (Photos)

According to eye witnesses, they woke up early Saturday morning and saw a man known in the area as Afeez climbing the PHCN high tension electric pole you see above. (Photo on the left). Afeez had told friends the previous day that he didn't want to live anymore. A large crowd gathered and repeatedly begged him to come down, which he eventually did.

After he got down, (Photo on the right - Afeez is the one in Lemon shirt), people started slapping him around and abusing him for wanting to commit suicide, instead of getting him help. His friends eventually carried him away and the crowd dispersed.

That same night, Afeez succeeded in killing himself. Continue reading...

Family of 9 Died Of Generator Fume – Imo State Govt

 

 
On Monday July 9th, nine members of the same family died mysteriously in their home. Neighbours and other family members said their deaths was spiritual.

But the Imo state government said it has finally unraveled the cause of death of the Emekuku family. According to the autopsy result released yesterday by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Obi Njoku, they were killed by generator fume poisoning.

The commissioner said the family slept and forgot to switch off their generator set and subsequently died as a result of the generator fume they inhaled while asleep and not by ‘evil spirits'

2nd Paralympic Gold For Nigeria, 2 Silver medals

 

 
 
Nigeria’s female weight lifter, Ivory Nwokorie, has won the gold medal in the women’s 44kg power lifting at the on-going Paralympic games in London.
Nwokorie beat Cigdem Dede from Turkey, who won the silver medal, while Lidiia Soloviova of Ukraine claimed the bronze medal.
 
Nwokorie, last year won bronze in the 44kg category at the third Fazaa International Para-powerlifting Championship in Dubai, to qualify for the Paralympic Games in London.
 
Delighted by her win, Ivory gushed, “I’m very, very happy. I have made my country proud.”
