I am sure by now some of you have watched the video of the brutal beating death of the four University of Port Harcourt students - Ugonna, Ilyod, Tekana and Chidiaka, by the indigenes of Aluu community in Port Harcourt. If you haven't watched the video, please don't bother. It's the most gruesome and the most unbelievable thing I have ever seen. It will break your heart.

Now I'm convinced that we have lost our souls as humans. The youths of this nation did this. People's children. Beaten till they were unconscious, then set on fire. They said they were robbers...were they really? Even if they were, is this how to treat another human being? Are we this barbaric in this country?

Two of them were even cousins. Ugonna and IIyod. Both of them were upcoming rappers. Big L was the winner of a popular Rap Contest show on SilverbirdTV PH called 'Turb Show'. I have listened to some of his songs...I'm devastated.

We the youths of this country demand that the River State Government look into this matter and arrest everyone in that video. Except the government want to tell us that they have given the youths of Aluu power to arrest and kill indiscriminately. The Rivers government MUST make a scapegoat of the people who did this so it doesn't repeat itself. Next time, it could be my brother or your brother. My child or your child! We can't let this happen again.

So let's start a campaign #justiceforaluu4 until the Rivers States government does something about this!

Nigeria Oil Reserve To Dry up In 41 years Time:World Bank

Nigeria’s oil reserve will be depleted in 41 years, according to a World Bank Group’s twice-yearly analysis of the issues shaping Africa’s economic prospects called Africa’s pulse.

The report which was presented by the World Bank’s chief economist for Africa, Shantayanan Devarajan, on Thursday said Nigeria’s and Angola’s oil reserves will be depleted in 41 and 21 years respectively.


“Nigeria, the largest regional producer, can keep supplying at 2011 levels for another 41 years, while Angola, the second largest producer in the region, has about 21 years remaining at current production levels before its known reserves are depleted.

Rihanna Finally Happy

4 UNIPORT students beaten to death for alleged stealing

Four University of Port Harcourt students named Ugonna, Ilyod, Tekana and Chidiaka were yestherday morning beaten to death by indegenes of Aluu community for allegedly stealing phones and laptops in an off campus hostel...

Instead of calling the police and getting them arrested, people of this community beat these students who were not even armed until they stopped breathing. Then they took pictures, filmed it and spread it around. This happened today in PH. We are gradually losing our humanity in this country. The boys were all in their early 20s. Kano Police Recovers Maryam Abaacha`s N20 million stolen jewellery

The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on Wednesday said that the police have recovered stolen jewellery worth N20 million belonging to Maryam Abacha, wife to Nigeria’s former military Head of State.

Mr Idris said that one of the suspects who bought some of the jewellery was arrested and his arrest led to the discovery of the remaining items.

The case of the stolen jewellery is before a court in Kano and one of Mrs Abacha’s domestic staff is being accused of stealing the jewellery. The police commissioner said that the jewellery were now in custody of the police as investigation into the matter

Chris Brown and Rihanna Go Public: Party Together

Chris Brown and Rihanna partied together at a New York nightclub late Monday night. According to TMZ, the ex-couple arrived 5 minutes apart, and quickly ended up at the same table. Sources inside the club said the two were all over each other, kissing and hugging out in the open and even disappeared together in a bathroom for 20 minutes.

Chris and Rihanna left the club separately, but hours later, Chris was spotted leaving the Gansevoort Hotel, where Rihanna was staying. Poor Karrueche!

Williams Sisters Live in Lagos From October 30th

As part of a planned African Tour, International Tennis champions, Serena and Venus Williams are scheduled to visit Lagos from Tuesday 30 October to Friday 2, November 2012 as part of the first leg of the recently launched ‘Breaking the Mould’ (BTM) campaign, a women’s empowerment initiative that has already garnered international support. 

While in Lagos, the dynamic duo will inspire, motivate and mentor a broad range of audiences through a series of supporting initiatives which include; a gala dinner, a tennis clinic and an exhibition match which will also be the first time the sisters will pit their strengths against one another on the tennis court anywhere in Africa.  

This will underpin BTM’s mission to recognise and acknowledge the role that women play in shifting perceptions and encouraging development on all levels across the African continent.

We all heard the extremely sad news yesterday. Unknown gunmen stormed an off-campus student hostel of the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, Adamawa State and shot dead at least 25 students. Some newspapers say the number is as high as 40.

The school has been shut indefinitely and the Adamawa State government has also imposed a 24-hour curfew. No group has claimed responsibility for the massacre...

The rate at which young people are being killed in Nigeria these days, the average lifespan of Nigerians will reduce soon. Continue to see some corpses removed from the hostel. Very graphic photos...so don't look if you don't have the stomach for it..

While Kim is in Miami to film her family reality show, Kanye has been living it up at Paris fashion week, even though he isn’t showing his clothing line there. On Sunday he was at a party hosted by Diane von Furstenberg and Olivier Zahm to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Purple magazine.

Another source tells us that things between Kanye and Kim are “cooling off” because “he’s getting tired of the constant press and promotion. He’s not as tight with her as he was.”
