Snippets from the autopsy report on the 25 corpses dumped inside Ezu River in Amansea, Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State, indicate that the deceased were extra-judicially murdered.

Vanguard gathered from sources in Lagos last night that the pathologists, who carried out the autopsy, discovered some bullet wounds, bruises and other signs that the suspects did not die of natural causes.

76 year old Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio from Buenos Aries in Argentina has been named the 266th Pope. He's the first Latin-American Pope in the history of the Catholic Church and has spent all his life in argentina.

How a Military man nearly killed Weird MC

Nigerian female rapper Adesola Adesimbo Idowu popularly called Weird MC is thanking God to be alive today after she recently escaped death from an angry military officer who threatened to kill her.

According to her, she spotted the military officer driving and talking on the phone with his family on Lagos Ibadan Expressway and cautioned him to watch out because of his safety and that of his family.

And to her surprise, the military officer stopped, brought out a knife and threatened to kill her.

Weird MC said she had no option but to escape for her life.

"People can be very irate. I had to run for my life." – Weird MC said

"The officer, he said, brought out a knife and threatened to kill her. She had to leave him and drive off." – said an aide to Weird MC

NYSC Decamps Copper for refuseing to wear trousers

ABEOKUTA – Reactions have started trailing the decamping of  2013 Batch A,female Corps member,Ms Tolu Ekundayo,by the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Ogun State for wearing skirt at the shagamu orientation camp.

Obafemi Martins moves to Seattle Sounders,pays buyout clause himself

MADRID (AFP) – Nigerian forward Obafemi Martins has paid the buyout clause in his contract with Levante himself, the Spanish club confirmed on Tuesday.
It is thought that the former Inter Milan and Newcastle United striker made the payment, said to be about three million euros ($3.9 million, £2.6 million) so he can join Major League Soccer side Seattle Sounders.

"Obafemi Martins has deposited this afternoon at the headquarters of the Spanish professional league (LFP) the fee which corresponds to the buyout clause in his contract with Levante," said a statement on the club's website."The LFP have then proceeded to transfer the fee and it has been deposited with Levante."

Presidency sacks Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority DG,Dr Harold Demuren

The Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Dr. Harold Demuren, has been sacked. A statement was released today Monday March 11th saying the decision was approved by President Goodluck Jonathan after "a careful consideration" of Demuren's "unsatisfactory response to the numerous concerns of stakeholders in the aviation sector."

His successor will be announced in the coming days.

Photo-NDLEA Arrests Grandma with Cocaine hidden In Hair

Giwa Ayoka Sikirat, a 53-year old grandmother, has been arrested with cocaine hidden in her hair, Nigeria's anti-drug agency said on Monday.
Sikirat was apprehended at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, NAIA, Abuja, the Nigerian Capital, while on her way to Pakistan, the agency said.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, said the suspect was arrested at the weekend following the discovery and seizure of a kilogramme of white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine$
"The suspect, Giwa Ayoka Sikirat concealed the drug in her beautiful hair style while trying to board an Ethiopian airline Flight ET 910 to Pakistan enroute Addis Ababa and Dubai," NDLEA said in a statement.

Armed robbers robs Delta Church,Snatch Church Offering Box During Sunday Service, Kill Worshipper

A five-man gang of armed robbers has raided a new generation church(name withheld) in Boji-Boji Owa, Ika North East of Delta State and snatched the church's offering and abducted the security guard, leaving one person dead.



An eye witness said the robbers shot sporadically into the air to pave way for their operation in the church at about 10:30am during prayer session and ordered the worshippers to face the ground while their operation lasted.

Chelsea to sell Torres for less than £15m

CHELSEA will sell Fernando Torres this summer and are prepared to take a £35million loss on the misfit striker.

Torres has been a disaster since his move from Liverpool   Club owner Roman Abramovich has at last conceded that the £50m Torres experiment has been a disastrous failure after more than two years of frustration.

Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala are ready to end the Spaniard's misery with a bid at the end of the season, but Torres would prefer a move back to his home country – which may yet provide a way for Chelsea to tempt Atletico Madrid's Falcao to the Bridge.

New Islamic Terror Group, ANSARU-claim to have killed the 7 kidnapped foreigners

A splinter group from the Boko Haram Islam sect, Jama'atu Ansarul Muslimina fi Biladis Sudan, otherwise known as JAMBS, on Saturday announced the murder of seven foreign expatriates that were abducted in Bauchi State, on February 16, 2013.
 
The leader of JAMBS, Abu Usamatal Ansary, stated in a message posted in a Islamic website that the decision to execute the expatriates followed reported attempts by British and Nigerian Forces to storm the area where the hostages were being kept and release them, contrary to earlier warnings issued by the sect.

The expartriates who were kidnapped from a Lebanese Construction Firm, Setraco, at Jama'are, in Bauchi , were three Lebanese, and a citizen each from Britain, Greece, Italy and the Philippines.
