Series of Allegations seems to be following Akwa Ibom State Government recently. Weeks back ,it allegations of Fraud involving the Governor Mr Godswill Akpabio but this recent one involves the wife Mrs. Unoma Akpabio. She is Said to have defrauded a Us missionary group to the tune of $2.7m. The missionaries Were said to have visited Akwa Ibom to help vulnerable Children especially, those dubbed as Witches and Wizards but they were duped by the Governors Wife. According to the missionaries, We were touched by the touched by the plight of the kids when we saw documents and news reports in international media about how they were mistreated. we decided to donate funds for the support and up keep of the needy kids. We were taken to different centers by Mrs. Akpabio which she claimed were owned by her in March 2011 but when we visited again in 2012 we were taken to a different place entirely. The missionaries said they were brought to the state two different times by a charity, the African children foundation owned by an indigene of the state based in Atlanta..
now, all our efforts to know what happened to our money has failed as we were told that the Governors wife does not run any Charity for Children. We had to leave the state because we were told to pay a toll before we are allowed to see the Governor. We call on the ICPC to investigate Mrs. Akpabio for Sham Charity work
