EPL Opening day fixtures for 2012/2013 league Season

Manchester City begin their defence of a first Premier League title with a home game against Southampton on the opening day.

For neighbours Manchester United a tough trip to Goodison Park awaits as David Moyes' Everton look to break an unwelcome trend of starting new campaigns badly.

Arsenal open up by welcoming Sunderland to the Emirates, while North London rivals Tottenham face a tricky looking game at St James' Park as Newcastle United play hosts.

European champions Chelsea travel to the North West to face Wigan Athletic, while Reading's return to the top flight sees them host Stoke City.

Liverpool begin life under Brendan Rodgers with a trip to the Midlands to face a West Brom side that welcome a new manager of their own in the shape of Steve Clarke.

Another new Premier League manager making his bow will be Michael Laudrup as his Swansea City side have a capital date with Queens Park Rangers.

It's all change at Norwich City too as Chris Hughton begins his tenure as Canaries boss with a trip to Fulham.

The big time returns to Upton Park on the opening day as Aston Villa start life under Paul Lambert with a trip to West Ham
