The family of Mr. Greg Obioha from Awo Idemili in Oru West Local Government of the state, was thrown into sudden mourning as the wife of Mr. Obioha, Mrs. Happiness Obioha allegedly hacked her mother in-law, Mrs. Agatha Obioha to death.
According to eye witnesses account, the 70-year-old mother never anticipated her death that fateful morning of Wednesday 13 June, 2012 when the old woman was allegedly hit from behind with an axe by Happiness as she was coming out from the bathroom.
Reports had it that the woman died on the spot and coupled with that, her body was locked up by Happiness until her husband came back from work to meet his beloved mother in the pool of her own blood.
Already the suspected killer of the aged woman is said to be cooling her heels at the Criminal Investigation Department detention cell of the state police command.
It was gathered that while under detention, Happiness never showed any remorse as she continued raining abuses on the deceased and her family.
The husband, as we were reliably informed confirmed the death adding that his wife had been hard on members of his family. According to another family member who pleaded anonymity, the suspect does not welcome any association from members of the family of the husband.
Meanwhile the new State Police Public Relation Officer, Vitalis Onugu said that he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
